Senior Developer
As a Senior Developer, George stretches his passion for diving deep into problems to understand and support client needs.
Previously spending nearly 12 years working at Automattic (Parent company of WordPress.com and Tumblr), George spent time serving as developer and lead for the Jetpack plugin, working on VaultPress and general assorted security incident responses, and the past five years on the Special Projects Team, helping to build and manage WordPress sites for a large number of non-profits and worthwhile causes.
He has also has been a regular contributor to the WordPress Open Source software for fifteen years now, writing and championing the Application Passwords functionality to enable third-party applications to communicate easily with WordPress, he has also focused on a smattering of other areas of the codebase over the years.
George holds a Bachelors of Arts in Theological Studies from Grove City College, where he also minored in Philosophy and Computer Science. When not working, he’s generally pursuing one of a myriad of hobbies that all seem to center around making things. Whether 3d modeling and printing, letterpress printing, sewing muppets, woodworking, bookbinding, or painting miniatures, he ekes out joy in making fun little knickknacks to share with those around him. He lives in Marietta, Pennsylvania, with his two children, two cats, and one hamster. Given his druthers, he’ll generally take either a Ti kuan yin oolong tea, or a Lapsang souchong.
