What’s a Build-a-Long?

If watching “Build a Website Step-by-Step” videos isn’t cutting it, join us for two months of accessible, plain-language seminars; one-on-one expert support; and guided co-building sessions; as well as lifetime access to course recordings and resources for further learning.

In addition to a series of seminars and co-building sessions, attendees in this eight-week course will also have the opportunity to troubleshoot assignments, ask questions about coursework and get one-on-one help with their websites from Bethink experts as needed during weekly Office Hours open only to the cohort.

This is intentionally designed as a small-ground course, and spaces are limited.

Over the course of eight weeks, you will:

• Draw up a sitemap
• Register your domain
• Install a WordPress website on a server
• Select and customize a WordPress theme that fits your vision
• Build out pages and blog posts using copy, images, and other WordPress block elements 
• Optimize your website for search and accessibility
• Launch your website (and your Google Analytics account)
• Learn tips and tricks for maintaining and managing your website

The Bethink Build-a-Long offers structure, accountability, and resources to anyone looking to launch a new or re-imagined website — and there’s no coding or website experience necessary to jump in. Whether you’re starting a new business, building a portfolio site, or looking to update an older website, this is the perfect place to start.

Build-a-Longs are offered quarterly. Times and scheduling will vary session to session. While our Fall Build-a-Long will be focused on WordPress websites, future Bethink Build-a-Longs on other open-source Content Management Systems are coming soon.
