The Scope
Bethink was brought on to fine-tune a website build for the Copyright Alliance, an organization that represents the interests of over 2 million individual creators and 15,000 organizations across the spectrum of copyright disciplines.
Innovations
The Copyright Alliance already had a WordPress website, built by another agency, that they were preparing to launch when they came to us. We made critical visual and structural adjustments in the final stretch to ensure it was reaching its potential.
Modernized Design

We wanted to honor the original design of the Copyright Alliance’s website, but made updates for ease and optimization. We re-architected data to simplify the content management process, maximized search engine optimization efforts, and ultimately refactored the WordPress Classic website for a move to Gutenberg over time.
Accessibility Audit
When we looked at the site’s accessibility, we ended up immersing ourselves in color theory. By tinkering with their color scheme, we achieved a contrast that promoted more broad visibility.
Membership Functionality
The Copyright Alliance has memberships for organizations and individuals — and we fully integrated their membership model into the build.
Launch + Results
The Copyright Alliance is now the top-ranking result for copyright searches. By modernizing and optimizing the website they had envisioned, we were able to make it as strong as they’d hoped.
We were also able to build one that would last. The Copyright Alliance never had technical debt, because we waited until Gutenberg was stable to update their website — so that their content process would remain largely unaffected, aside from increased convenience.
